November 5th Update

This week’s redesign is Sho:
Sho2

This was a tough one to design, because it required removing a lot of details from a design I loved, but that didn’t match the human military style I was going for:

Sho

Like the others I based the new design off of the uniforms of the other human Military:

But to keep him unique I decided to veer away from the usual cream colour, however I didn’t want to use the old colour scheme of Sho’s earlier design, since it makes him look a lot like a villain which wasn’t the intention of the character, hes a supporter rather than an antagonist, so I used the blue Human military background character as a start and then took the darker aspects of his old design as highlights rather than the main focus colour.

Now, onto this week’s status on concepts:

  • Background extras:42/42
  • Main Characters: 13/13
  • Main character re-designs: 5/5
  • Secondary Character: 14/14
  • Secondary Character re-designs: 3/5

That’s all for this week,
Until next time

September 17th Update

Last secondary character concept! The villain of season 2, who will be making a cameo, Goro Susanoo:
Goro1.png

There where actually a few different inspirations for this character, but he’s largely meant as a darker version of Commander Izanagi  but he has elements from admiral Thrawn from Star Wars, Azien from bleach and Liquid Snake from Metal gear Solid:

I have so much fun making villains Goro in particular, he’s a mastermind type character, and I think I nailed that feel in his appearance, but it went through a few tweeks:

At first I felt I should keep him in just the human military uniform, but I wanted to make it clearer he is a villain, so I added the coat, I’m actually still debating giving him the brown coat above or going for the greyer coat, but I may have him switch between the two, so we’ll see in the future.

Now, onto this week’s status on concepts:

  • Background extras:42/42
  • Main Characters: 13/13
  • Main character re-designs: 1/5
  • Secondary Character: 14/14
  • Secondary Character re-designs: 0/5

Which means now we’re onto re-designs!

That’s all for this week,
Until next time

March 20th Update

Quick one this week, this week’s concept is a female version of the solider from last week

The colours are basically just copied from last week’s concepts, and the design itself is based off of Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the shell:

I may return to this design in the future since I had to rush it a little bit due to college related deadlines.

I’ve also been thinking a bit about secondary content to help promote the cartoon as I make it, I have a few obvious ideas like table reads and blooper videos, but those require the cartoon to already be made and out in the public. I have my steaming, but I haven’t a clue how to promote a live stream outside of just being consistent. I’d like to open up a suggestion box or something similar to get ideas.

I’ll keep you guys posted as I come up with more ideas

That’s all for this week,

March 6th Update

Onto the human military this week, I started with a simple officer:

The Uniform design is taken from my design of Commander Izanagi I talked about A few Months Back but I removed a few of the details to show the lower rank, the colours I took from different colours of camouflage, with the exception of the white colour scheme which I once again took from Izanagi. I was hoping to have a second template with a more combat based design for this week, but I left myself just that tiny bit short on time. I’m going to see if I can start pushing myself to get two of these concepts done a week , the sooner I’m done with these the sooner I can get back to the main cast again, and the sooner I can get to conception the different parts of the city.

One of the things that I’ve been considering is the voice actors, and primarily how to keep them invested in the project, I am worried that intrest in the project will dissapear the longer it takes me to put all the peices together, I don’t have any kind of real web presence, so I have no real reputation, plus I won’t be able to afford to pay much, at least for this season.  I’m hoping this blog will help, and being transparent about what is currently being worked on, but it’s still a large concern of mine. Hopefully if I can produce even one episode it’ll show I can achieve what I’m setting out to do, but I’ll keep pondering it for now.

That’s all for this week, till next week
